“I believe children and families thrive in any environment where they are seen, heard and valued.”
Callie Crump is a third-year ECE Doctoral Teaching Fellow in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Callie began her educational career as an early childhood educator in Chicago Public Schools. She served students and families on the South Side of Chicago as a full-day, Pre-K teacher. She also worked as an early childhood instructional coach in Louisville, KY, and led a team of OECE early childhood instructional support specialists embedded in network offices throughout Chicago Public Schools. Callie’s current research assistant appointment at UIC includes consulting and writing (specializing in family engagement) for a culturally relevant early childhood curriculum launched in Chicago and several cities across the country.
In her free time, Callie loves family movie and game nights, listening to good music, and making s’mores in the backyard with her husband, two teenagers, and her new puppy!
