10 years ago, VOCEL was founded with the belief that all young children can become creative, compassionate, critical thinkers and leaders — with the right foundation of early support. From the start, we focused on Chicago’s most disadvantaged communities, where we saw a serial underinvestment in the adults in young children’s lives: parents and caregivers, early childhood teachers, and school leaders. Starting with a single classroom of 13 young children, we’ve grown to reach nearly 2,500 kids by empowering adults with best practices in early childhood development and communities of support.
