“To create practical change in the community we must empower the people with the knowledge, resources and support necessary for radical success.”
Deb has recently joined VOCEL as the Partnerships Manager where she will be increasing awareness of our programs and nurturing our ongoing citywide partnerships. She is a cause driven leader passionate about uplifting and inspiring folks from all walks of life through strong relationship building. She comes with over ten years of nonprofit experience serving youth and families in Chicago and nearby suburbs. In her previous roles she has organized and led community based youth and family programming, established key partnerships with local stakeholders and organized platforms for youth voices to be elevated and heard.
She holds a degree in Human Development and Family Studies and is currently pursuing her Undergrad at Northeastern Illinois University with a Major in Urban Community Studies and a Minor in Studio Art. Outside of VOCEL, Deb also sits on the Associate Board for The Simple Good and volunteers for local parent groups at her kids schools.
When she is not busy cultivating change, you can find her exploring nature, creating art, rollerblading, kayaking and trying out new foods with her husband Persio and three kids Preston, Penelope and Alex. At her core, Deb is a big kid at heart and approaches her life with a fun and joyful outlook.
