“I believe that philanthropy can be liberatory when we work in community with others.”
Greg joined the VOCEL team as Development Director in April 2021, after more than ten years of experience raising money for impactful organizations in the education sector. He graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in journalism and economics before beginning his professional career as a 7th grade special education teacher through Teach For America. Since that time, he has built deep experience in individual, corporate, foundation, and government fundraising through roles at Summer Search Philadelphia, Perspectives Charter Schools and Teach For America. Through those roles, he has developed a vision for how fundraising can create mutually beneficially relationships that grow and strengthen the coalition necessary for educational equity.
Greg lives in East Lakeview with his wife, Stephanie, and their two children, Amina and Felix. They enjoy exploring all corners of the city and playing board games together. On weekends, you can find Greg out giving architecture tours as a docent with the Chicago Architecture Center.
