Julio has been with VOCEL for over four years, driven by a commitment to making a meaningful impact in his community. He started as VOCEL’s Program Coordinator, transitioned into the role of Marketing & Communications Manager, and currently is the Manager of Member Experience.
In his current role, Julio oversees the planning, logistics, and implementation of all VOCEL events, ensuring they create meaningful and seamless experiences for families and partners. He designs and implements systems to support event facilitation and collaborates with program leads and departments to set the team up for success. Julio also manages impactful initiatives like “Gift of Joy” among other projects that elevate the member experience.
Throughout his time at VOCEL, Julio has embraced new opportunities for growth, bringing his strengths in graphic design, event planning, and project management to every role he’s held. He takes pride in being part of a supportive and innovative organization that values connection, creativity, and community.
Julio holds a BA in Business Administration and Event Management from DePaul University and has over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, along with seven years of nonprofit work in Chicago. He is currently pursuing a Project Management Certification.
Outside of work, Julio enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, volunteering with LGBTQ+ organizations, running, and being overly competitive at any board game.
