Julio has been with VOCEL for over three years. He started as VOCEL’s Program Coordinator, moved up to Marketing & Communications Manager, and more recently manages VOCEL’s Member Experience. Currently, Julio creates systems that support member growth, plans & executes all in-person events, and manages all projects related to the experience enhancement of VOCEL’s members, such as, Gift of Joy.

Just like Julio’s previous roles, his current position was created due to VOCEL’s growth and need for an overall better experience for families & partners, improved logistics and behind-the-scenes support. Julio is excited to grow and bring his graphic design, event planning and overall marketing experience to his new role. As a curious quick learner who takes initiative, he loves being part of a small team, wear multiple hats and be able to share ideas and grow as VOCEL grows.

Julio holds a BA in Business Administration & Event Management from DePaul University. Before joining VOCEL, Julio worked in the Hospitality industry for over 9 years and with other non-profit organizations in Chicago for over seven years. He is currently pursuing the Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute. Outside VOCEL, Julio enjoys pretending he’s on a cooking show and trying new recipes, volunteering for LGBTQ+ organizations, running, painting, making vision boards, and is always up for a chess match.
