“People are powerful and don’t need fixing. Folks know themselves, their families, and what they need to thrive better than anyone else.”
Kayla oversees VOCEL's child and caregiver facing programs. She works with VOCEL's team to ensure that programs bring interactive, inclusive, and accessible early childhood knowledge, strategies, and support to adults and children throughout Chicago.
Kayla comes from a social work and economic justice background and works to uplift the existing power in communities. She holds a BA in International Development and Social Change from Clark University in Massachusetts and an MA in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago and brings her skills and focus on equity into her work with staff and families.
Outside of work, Kayla spends time with her partner and dog at their home or traveling and exploring. She also enjoys time with friends and family, the beach, and baking, gardening, or reading.
