Virtual Child Parent Academy
A free online baby and tot play group where parents find support and learn ways to spark learning and discovery with their children.
We’ve gone virtual during COVID-19 to keep participants and staff healthy while supporting families in more ways than ever before.

How it works
As we’re safely distancing, we’re engaging our community online, delivering resources to homes, and meeting our families’ needs with additional resources.
Virtual Meet-ups
Children ages 0-4 and their caregivers tune into live virtual classes with their teachers and access a bank of on-demand videos.
Resources for Home
Parents receive supports like books, VOCEL Brain Bags, and text message tips. A virtual message board provides further connection and resource sharing.
Additional Supports
Family Support Specialists provide a listening ear virtually and connect families with hard-to-access resources.
We believe learning should be hands-on, messy, and fun!
Bi-weekly Zoom meet-ups for children and parents. These classes engage young learners and their caregivers and parents. VOCEL provides a monthly kit of supplies needed for at home participation in class.
We know it takes a village to raise a child and support caregivers.
Bi-weekly Zoom parents’ group. Parents login for a supportive discussion where they learn about child development and swap stories in a judgement-free zone. Parent groups are led in English and Spanish.
Parents are their child’s first and most important teachers.
A bridge from classes to home. Every month, families receive a Brain Bag with books, at-home learning tools, and all the supplies necessary for our virtual classes. Families also receive texts 3x per week with parenting tips and ideas, plus access to VOCEL’s online parent resource library.
Connecting to a network of family programs
Family Support Specialists. We partner with mental health, employment, and other community programs to help families secure additional resources and support. In addition, we host monthly parent/caregiver webinars. Parents can access even more resources through our private Parent Portal.
