I’m Olu and my daughter is Rachelle. She just turned two years old. Being a mom is a lifetime job, but it is something very rewarding and enjoyable – you look at your kids and you are fascinated.

Sometimes I am really tired from the stress but I still have to be up and making sure the kids are okay. We enjoy going to VOCEL because of Rachelle. I see her enjoyment in class. I look forward to her getting more comfortable interacting with others – children and teachers. As each week passes by, she gets better at relating with people. She is gaining more confidence. I am very happy to watch her grow socially and emotionally.

We came to the US just a year ago, and VOCEL has been a good chance to meet other moms and get support. You hear other people’s stories and it gives you encouragement that you are not alone. VOCEL is an avenue for you to communicate and express yourself – I talk to Cristen, our Family Support Specialist. That support for every parent is very important.
